Just climbed Indianhead mountain Tuesday. 4 hours up, an hour at the summit, and 4 hours down. This was a tough hike. Roberto and I have climbed 6582, villager and Rabbit and this is a tough one. My 1986 Schad book says there is a faint trail on his route. After 33 years I would think there would be more of a trail. Just cairns gooing up the ridge. If your looking for a difficult day hike this is it. Not sure how to add pictures

Nice. Which route did you take? If you went up BPC, how bad was the brush?

For posting pictures on here, I use a flickr account to host them.

Never done that hike (yet) but it looks like it would make a for a long day....if you have the photos hosted somewhere just post a link to look at them externally.

I’ve never done the standard route from Schad’s book although I have done Indianhead twice. Indianhead was easier than 6582 to me.

Buford took Schads route up Borrego Palm Canyon 2.5 miles. Then turned North and went up the ridge toward the peak. I agree 6582 is probably the toughest hike out there. No brush on the entire route. The reeds in BPC were not bad.

Never climbed it either. Looks like a nice climb. A lot easier going up than down. ( For me) I like Schads route. Up the ridge. Also, the dreaded cats claw is really healthy this year in the canyon bottoms. ;-o

Indianhead is an awesome hike. I did Schad's route back in 2013. I remember having to pick my way around large boulders near the top and burned trees. The views are so sweet, though. If I ever go again, I'd try the south gully.

FYI, I host my photos free on blogspot.com.
