Anyone seen a Badger in the park?
I saw one last night. No time to get out the camera. We were driving down a dirt road at night to get to a campsite. It was sitting in the middle of the road. It looked at us for a few seconds and scurried off into the underbrush.
I did get some other pics from the trip.

I really like those photos, well done..!
Never seen a badger...the VC at Ocotillo Wells has trail camera photos of badgers beating off coyotes and other critters at night, they are pretty tough.

Never seen a badger, didn't even know they were in the desert.
Was the last shot from Mine Peak?

I dug up some papers on Badgers in San Diego County. Looks like they used to range from the coast to the desert. Now they are just in the mountains and desert. One recent paper here:

Last shot is the Borrego Badlands with the Borrego buttes in the background. It is not from Mine Peak. Mine Peak at sunset is also good though.

Nice trip Buford. Just returned from AB this weekend, where one of the things we were looking for were ....... badger tracks and dens. Did not find any, but they have been seen in the area I was looking. I can PM the area to you. Congrats on seeing one. I've only seen tracks and burrows thus far. We did find some sidewinder tracks, which led us to the snake itself, I'll try to post some pics later this week. - Jim edited by ziphius on 9/2/2019
