Never been to the Dos Cabezas area. Is is advisable / possible with a 2WD sedan, given either of the two routes I've outlined below? Any other tidbits of info are welcome.  Jim

I have not been out there this season but I have been out there quite a few times where, with a little bit of caution, there would be little risk to a typical clearance sedan. I would not recommend if for anything that has little clearance (low profile tires, etc.). Also keep in mind conditions change out there (last year someone I was with got stuck in sand on a dirt road in ABSP (or maybe just outside it) that has been driven many times with similar vehicles.

Blue route (Dos Cabezas Rd)....NOT Mortero Wash (Some semi deep sand).
Dos Cabezas will get you there but you will need to drive with caution, rocks and such but no deep sand or ruts. If you have cheapo tires be extra careful.

If you haven't alread gone, would skip crossing the loop of tracks in a low clearance vehicle. Both my Tundra 4X4 and my friend's Bronco scraped since there's not really a RR crossing. Take the road around the loop. Also, you're going to have to cross a berm and get back onto the non-Ocotillo Wind version of Dos Cabezas Road at the circle. Enjoy. Tom

I think Tom is correct but the road is so heavily graded now it is easy to get off track.
