Wife and I hiked in and did some exploring this weekend. 9.5 total Some finds included a quarry used for some of the lager stone walls found along the tracks. Also a steel wheel casing which was bolted around a spoke wheel. Also the harness system for mounting the pack animals. To boot a horse shoe.
Many other cool stuff found.

Good stuff, I need to poke around that area more, seems I have explored mostly south of the trestle.

May do an over nighter. Its a nice area. Found a knife also. Didn't finish the trail wife tuckered out.
Here's a picture of the trail going on.
Wife likes to explore caves for Indian artifacts. She found one with some broken pottery and metal from the R&R crew. Didn't find any morteros near this cave. But there may be some around this area.
