Just read that the creator of Salvation Mountain and Slab City died this week.
Always meant to get out there to visit.

Sad to see him go. I have made many trips to salvation mountain and met him a few times...I'm only about 30 minutes from Slab City, maybe the locals that live there will be able to keep it going. RIP Leonard

Just over a year ago I went to salvation mountain and by good fortune it was Leonard's birthday so he was there. There were reporters, etc so I did not get to talk with him. I wonder if it was his last trip to the mountain.
