I have yet to take a photo of my Cholla bomb photos but I'll just say "Been there, done that" Ouch! btw I read that the old Ranchos used to ring cactus around thier adobe homes to keep cattle and hostle indians out.

I'm still getting cholla-bombed this morning, unpacking my pack! Yesterday, I stepped on an ocotillo branch that unknowningly, was acting as a lever for a ball of cholla (about 15 segments) that got launched into my right leg. And I keep insist on wearing shorts on most trips, because I'd rather deal with the occasional cholla than wear long pants! Still pulling spines out of my knee this morning too.

I remember that photo, I thought it looked like those girly socks back in the 80's, the ones that had a little ball hanging off the back....

Hey, don't feel bad if you've been cholla-bombed. It happens to the best:

I thought I would resurrect this thread. Here are a few new entries.
Ewe with a big cholla bomb in her throat:
This ewe had a cholla bomb on her front leg:
Hard to see, but this lamb had a cholla bomb its face. The lamb might have given it to the ewe above. She seemed reluctant to let the lamb nurse for obvious reasons:
Myself awhile ago. Hiking in the dark and had one stick to my shoe then embedded in the opposite calf really bad:
A week later:
