As usual, amazing TR Nolan, you have some of the luckiest kids....I still struggle with the "Desert Season" phrase everyone uses....the desert is open for use 365 days a year and each "season" offers different enjoyments. Try the mud caves in 118 degrees, the cool breeze slot is amazing and there are not 110 cars parked in the wash...just one, yours...

That is a beautiful part of the world. We've been up there a few times and camped in some of your spots. Love Fern Canyon too.

Smith rivers brings back great memories of camping along the river with some nice " Earthy Folks" many moons ago. We have Family up in Oregon and N. Calif. and enjoy the Summer trips up in the "shade country" Great Trip report. Glad the whole camper situation worked out.

Ditto on lack of crowds. It is a great time to explore the Mud caves. We brought a canopy last time and even barbecued
