I've given it a lot of thought, and my family has decided that a small travel trailer like the r-pod http://www.forestriverinc.com/TravelTrailers/rpodwest/default.aspx?model=rpodw&page=floorplandetails&floorplanid=5518&RVType=trailers will probably work better for us. The plan is to drive the trailer to a camping spot (like Blair Valley), drop it off, and then go out exploring with the truck. That's the plan, but plans change!

Those look like cool off road trailers. They have them off the 15 freeway in Temecula  I also saw quite a few of them on our trip through Oregon. Light weight and easy to tow. I bet you could get that up fish creek wash

That's a nice setup....way out of my league...I thought getting a new foam sleeping pad from the surplus store was a big upgrade for me...

I'm not sure about fish creek wash. I think the trailers may look stronger than they really are. Not near the build quality of the Hallmark. I just hope I don't regret selling the Hallmark!
