Decided to head out to Hapaha Flat and check out some of the ancient Indian villiage sites. Unfortunatly my rig won't make it through the "squeeze" so I headed up through fish creek, passed sandstone canyon and beyond. It ended up being about 20 miles one way and definite 4wd road. It was my first time getting stuck in 4wd! The soft sand and fully inflated tires proved to be too much. I aired down to 60psi in the rear and 50 psi in the front.

Fish creek...had it in 2wd all the way to sandstone canyon

A must stop...

And some pretty tight places

This is about where I got stuck and had to air down

Once I saw this protruding boulder decided to call it a day and set up camp

And did some night time road construction

Couldn't have made it without my spotter smile

Toughest part of the drive is here

There is a nice Indian site right at the beginning of the flat

I have never seen these before

Lots of pottery

Headed up to Dave Mcain Spring

You know when there is grass growing in the middle of the road you are out there!

And found a VERY sweet campsite

Did I mention SWEET campsite?

The tank

And the mighty ocotillo

Did a lot of bushwacking

Headed up to split rock

And another sweet campsite

With morteros

Salamanders

And rock art

Thanks Daren for the DStretch

I think I became part Indian on this trip wink

Awesome trip!!

Can't believe we found these
