Four days of rain in North County and finally it is raining in ABDSP. Can't wait to get back out there.

Me too! Thinking maybe Villager peak and/ or natural rock tanks if I can't make rockhouse canyon due to Clark lake mud.

My plans this week have been completely shot, I will try to go out next week, probably Sun or Monday or even possibly tomorrow for a quick view. Do you think CDL road will be passable? I have never been on that road.
I drove a few hours yesterday out thru the backcountry of Alpine/Descsnso/Jamul/Skyline and it was also a mess, many,many floods and water falls.
I will say, I am still amazed how people drive in this weather, I stayed off the freeways but saw 2 roll over's on the 94 from frontage roads on the way home.

I hope it keeps raining in ABDSP but I am ready for it to stop here in north county. I just spent 3+ hours cleaning up 2-3 inches of standing water in my shop under my house. It was actually flowing out of the shop into the garage. So glad I keep all my gear up on shelves. Used the shop vac and must have filled and dumped it 50 times. Only a trickle coming in now so I think I am good unless we get some more rain like last night. NWS says we have almost 8 inches total from this storm but it sure feels like more than that. I know my next house will NOT have a basement!!

Picked up about 8" in my unofficial rain gauge (straight sided pot) here along the coast also.
Radar showed some good shots of rain in our beloved ABDSP. The CDL access is probaby good
up the the gravel quarry on the west side of the lake bed. After that, well.....either a mud bogger
or a cannoe. Keep us posted. I would like to head out for a 2 day run after Christmas.

I have a straight sided bucket that must have 12 inches or more in it. Unbelievable!
I think I recognize that pic. Is that from over by Aguanga? If so I probably have the same pic somewhere.
Scroll to the bottom of this link for storm totals, from about noon today, in our desert and check out the rest of SoCal too. Huge numbers everywhere.

A couple of pics from walking my dog this morning and also my backyard. I took all of the pics with my phone.
Flooded street near my house, people were stuck in this closed condo community
Chollas Creek in front of my house, the hillside totally caved in and the fence is falling
The hill in my backyard (taken from the roof), good thing I finally built the retaining wall but still a mess for sure. Five major slides came down and my crazy dog was trying to chase the falling rocks all night.
Even the silt was pouring out the drain holes at the bottom of the retaining wall, I still have a lot of cleanup to do. All of that dirt/silt came thru cracks about 1/2"x1/2" and even now are still flowing out.

Daren,
I live on a hill and the water comes down through the ground and comes in through my foundation and looks very similar, less mud more water, to what you showed at the base of your wall, only it was in my shop. The creek picture is pretty amazing. Urban kayaking?

The creek is a longer story but kayaking is not possibly due to all of the garbage people throw in it.

Agree, huge numbers . Over 22" at Santago peak! Just amazing.
Gotta love Borrego Springs getting a much needed 2".
You are correct, the pic is just past Aguanga before the 371 turn off heading toward Anza.

Great pics guys.
We were planning on going out for an overnight this Wednesday to test out these new rock-climbing shoes I got for Christmas.
Wanted to climb some of the rocks around Moortero Wash/Piedras grandes but.....
now I am hearing it is suppose to rain Wednesday and Thursday...
