Butterfield Ranch/Mason Valley rock house and mine

I'm curious if anyone knows anything about the history of the rock house and mine west of Butterfield Ranch in Mason Valley? I know Daren has visited at least the rock house in the album below. I'll be leading a hike out in October for OAUSA's Borregofest (http://forums.oausa.net/viewforum.php?f=193) and would love to be able to provide some basic information, thanks!

I don't know anything specific but that area was home to lots of mines and cattle ranches. You might want to ask inside the Butterfield store, I met the owner of the ranch there once and she was very friendly and encouraged me to go explore the stone ruins.
