So Google finally decided to depreciate the Picasa API which was the way I was pulling pictures into my AB BLOG site.upset
Suddenly I was getting 404 errors but at the same time I had really let the site kind of fall by the wayside as family stuff had come up etc.

Did some research on their developers’ site and they now require you to use Google photos and the Google Photos Library API which requires you to go through a few more hoops to get it to work.

Anyway, home sick today so played around with it and got it to work.
I guess they put a cap on using the API to 10,000 requests per project per day which I don’t think is an issue.wink
You can see here (at bottom of post) how it looks pulling a Google Photo Gallery into Word Press.

Looking at some of my old pictures has really motivated me to get back out into the AB desert a bit more which is my goal this spring.

Take care all and a special thanks to the regulars who keep this forum going,
Bob

Yeah it is pretty crazy.
You guys get all the credit. Some really good information has been shared.
Looking forward to seeing more users this spring hopefully.
Rumor has it we may be in for another good flower season which usually brings people to the site

Yeah, great site! I am always picking up new info and new places to go. I would expect with all the rain we are getting, it should be a great spring bloom.

APIs and services from most providers evolve for whatever reasons and unfortunately require ongoing maintenance. I had to move all my stuff out of photobucket when they changed the terms of service. Google photos has good integration with their free blogger service, but it is not as sophisticated as wordpress.

It has been fun setting this up again and it actually works much better than the old integration so I really shouldn't complain. smile
